Heavyweights in Southern Africa’s music industry will be heading to the province of extremes this December for the inaugural SA Jazz Festival – Northern Cape.
The festival, aimed at celebrating South African jazz legends, will be held at the Riverton Langleg Pleasure Resort in Kimberley on 17 December 2016.
Musical maestros such as Hugh Masekela, Oliver Mtukudzi, Ray Phiri, Stimela, Judith Sephuma and Simphiwe Dana will be the headline acts.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Nathi Mankayi and local musicians Dineo Ramailane and Deekamo, among others, are also part of the line-up.
The festival, scheduled to start at 10am, will kick off the Northern Cape’s festive season celebrations and patrons will have much more than the music to enjoy.
Legendary musician Ray Phiri will conduct workshops for budding musicians.
In addition to learning the ins and outs of the music industry from the masters themselves, locals and visitors can lap up all the Northern Cape has to offer, and experience its cultural and historical heritage and cuisine.
Tickets to the jazz festival cost from R300 for general entry to R3 500 for VIP access.
