Mbulelo Kafi of Sakhisizwe Tours has been in the tourism industry since 2009 and wants to see more young people in the Northern Cape following their dreams and creating opportunities for themselves, while building his own career in Colesberg.

Speaking to Northern Cape Tourism during  Nelson Mandela International Day on 18 July 18, Mbulelo says said “Nelson Mandela spent his life fighting for the youth of South Africa to live a better life.” He adexpressesd his gratitude to Mandela and says said he intends to honour his Madiba’s legacy by sharing the history of South Africa with the youth, as well as visitors.

“Developing young entrepreneurs must render … their selfless services in communities by dedicating their time to supporting schools and youth centres, and telling good stories.”

Mbulelo’s tour guide training was sponsored by the Northern Cape Tourism Authority and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism in 2009 and he has since attended travel trade shows around the world as his business has grown.

With Tourism Month being celebrated during September, Sakhisizwe Tours has some special tours lined up for visitors to Colesburg. 

Sakhisizwe Tours suggested “sho’tleftSho’t Left” experiences:

1. A tour of the Kuyasa township, during which guests can learn about the evolution of the township and hear interesting stories, while visiting historical sites
2. A brick factory tour, examining the  indigeneous manufacturing of bricks
3. Trying local cuisine at the Hans Brothers Restaurant
4. Taking a donkey cart tour of Karretjie village
