The Wapad Guest House is situated in a tranquil area on the edge of town and is one of the warm, sandstone buildings shelter in a well-treed hollow in a flat landscape covered by wheat, heather and proteas. The historic sandstone buildings have been renovated to provide three self catering units and a separate cottage. Groups of up to 13 people can be accommodated. During the flower season, accommodation will include breakfast and dinner will be optional by prior arrangement.
We can also accommodate conferences during which light meals and refreshments can be provided.
We refer to Nieuwoudtville as the BULB CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, since it has the highest speciation of bulbs in the world. South Africa's greatest contribution to world horticulture has been bulbs such as Freesia, Ixia, Tritonia, Gladiolus, Babiana, Sparaxis, Dierama, Clivia and many others. Not only do many species of these bulbs occur at Nieuwoudtville, but there are also a number of these bulbs that are endemic to Nieuwoudtville and the Bokkeveld Plateau.
