
Situated in the very small picture-perfect farming town of Dibeng (total population of 7,878 in 2011) Northern Cape. The town was founded in 1897. The town used to be the land of the Tswana, where tribes like Batlhaping and Batlharo used to dwell. Olifantshoek boasts an abundance of adventure, natural wonders and cultural artifacts that can be explored by all enthusiasts. Dibeng is a town in John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, situated on the banks of the dry Gamagara River. The name is Tswana in origin, from Deben, and means "first drinking place". Deben is a variant spelling. The town has very strong Dutch Reformed roots, the congregations at Kuruman, Kathu and Olifantshoek have withdrawn from the original congregation in Dibeng. Dibeng is part of the Green Kalahari Region.

The Guesthouse is about 30min or 31km drive from Kathu on route R380. We are about a 2,5 hrs drive or 220km from Upington’s International Airport on Route 14. We are about 3 hrs drive or 306km from Kimberley Airport on Route R31. We are about 12 hrs drive or 1,069km from Namibia in Windhoek on Route C16 (No Tolls). If you are traveling from the Mother City of Cape Town International Airport, we are about 10,5 hrs drive or about 1,006 km on Route R27 (No Tolls) If you are traveling from Port Elizabeth International Airport, we are about 10 hrs drive or 970 km on Route 10. If you are traveling from Joburgs OR Tambo Aiprort, we are about 6,5 hrs drive or about 616 km on Route 14 (Toll road fees apply). We offer a laundry service for a small fee. (Charged by weight)
