En route to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (mere 50km from Upington), in the midst of the “Green Desert” on the farm “Uitsig” is a holiday destination that seems to have evolved from a movie maker's imagination, allowing the visitor to embrace nature but with all the luxuries of modern life.
There is something to please each weary traveller. The warm and stylishly rustic guesthouse offers its patrons a cosy dining room, vibrant bedrooms and an authentic Kalahari Farmstall where one can purchase true South African gifts and fresh products. The farm known as “Uitsig” (Outlook) meaning the view, consists of two individual bushcamps, which are designed from interwoven wooden poles and branches and creates a feeling of being one with nature. All the units have fully equipped and private bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms with a truly African theme. The farmstall curio shop offers a wide range of bushman products, curios from the region, fresh meat, home made ginger beer, wood, ice, etc.
Each campsite has a private braai area and a breathtaking view; you could walk for miles with only nature’s silence for company and think you had only taken a few steps.
