The best rapids on the Orange are found on the Thunder Alley and Orange Gorge sections. The 4-Day White Water Rafting from Egerton Game Ranch, near Hopetown, is the best white water that the Orange has to offer. Navigating over the Egerton rapids and through Thunder Alley, this trip is bound to be full of heart pumping action.

No previous experience is needed, as experienced and qualified guides will ensure your safety and enjoyment over the grade 2, 3 and 4 rapids. All the necessary equipment is provided.

The Game Ranch, 20km upstream of Hopetown, it is 3000ha with 10km of Orange River frontage. It boasts a river side camp with en-suite facilities, 10 game species, abundant birdlife and more. It is also the venue for the South African National White Water Rafting and Kayak Rodeo Championships.

Spend a day in a sea kayak relaxing on a scenic paddle through grade 1 & 2 rapids and follow it with some adrenaline-pumping action. The Gorge section offers lots of fun rapids with a couple of ‘big ones’ to add some excitement. A visit to the Ritchie Falls, the second highest waterfall on the Orange after Augrabies, is part of the 4 day trip and you can extend your stay at the Wild Paradise campsite in Onseepkans.
